Wings For L.I.F.E. - Life-skills Imparted to Families through Education (WFL)

WFL is a truly remarkable program that has been providing life-changing support to families affected by incarceration since 2014. This program understands the challenges and difficulties faced by a marginalized and often forgotten population, such as the families of prisoners. While there are already numerous programs that are dedicated to rehabilitating inmates, Wings For L.I.F.E. takes a unique approach, focusing on empowering the families of inmates by imparting valuable life skills and important education. Through this empowering program, families are equipped to deal with issues caused by incarceration, learn coping mechanisms to reduce at-risk behaviors, and ultimately take control of their lives.

Wings For LIFE International Provides:

Educational weekly programs in Albuquerque, Farmington, Santa Fe, Espanola, East Mountains, and Las Cruces.
WFL programs are also virtual on Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube, reaching a global audience.
Wings Prison Family Days.
Wings WORKS-a job training program for returning citizens, the homeless, and anyone who needs job skills.
Wings For LIFE International Liberia-training, education, and support for Liberian program.
Education, resources, support, kids activities, food, and hope are delivered to thousands of people every year.

our focus

Wings springs from the passion of caring people and the deep concern we have to help families of prisoners who have been largely shunned or ignored by our society. In our society where children are all at risk in one way or another, children whose parent(s) are in prison, face even more challenges.

our goal

We help build relationships that transform the lives of families, volunteers and communities. We connect spouses, caregivers & children of prisoners with nurturing & supporting relationships. Wings conducts joyous celebrations of unconditional love that break down barriers.

why wings is different

The guardians and caregivers of the inmate’s children have time to meet with congregational, community leaders and volunteers. Contacts are made that can enable future support for the families and invitations are extended to the families to attend congregations in their neighborhoods. Inmate’s families are welcomed and encouraged to find a congregational home.
